I’m going to get it out of the way before some tool says it in seriousness:
“It must be nice to have all the money to spend on luxury like this”. There. Done.
Last year tickets went in2 hours. This year it took all day to sell them. I understand last year the event did not go over well. People were unhappy with the food. We will see this year. It’s out of my reach.
This was a total success, and let’s face it. If you go to an event like this for the food, you’re doing it wrong. This is for fun and mingling with friends.
Actually its a fundraiser to help get good things done first and foremost.
Wow. This is by far the most homogenous of all the events I have seen in Danville. Last Capital of the Confederacy.
People get tired of the same thing every year, change it up, maybe a BBQ cook off. Or an oyster festival in the fall.
We had a really great barbecue event when I got here. I recall it got too big so it was…canceled. Typical Danville.
We really enjoyed the event. Shrimp, beverage and band were great!
Was Candidate Gaughan present? Peeling shrimp might not appeal to him.

I hope the YMCA brings back the Crab Feast next year. That was a great event.
