Danville’s Veterans Day Parade was held on Sunday, November 8th and SouthsideCentral was there! We’ve got a lot of PhotoCentral articles coming up in this series, so let’s get started with Part #1.
We’re ready, so bring on the photos!
The parade is heading our way!
Now that’s one advantage to living on Main Street.
The Danville Fire Department ladder truck blocking the side street has an American flag on display.
One of the new Danville Police patrol SUV’s is the lead escort for the parade.
The Danville Police Department Honor Guard is the first unit in the parade.
This parade is organized by the Danville Area Veterans Council.
And here comes the Grand Marshal of the parade.
Frederick Williams (93) is this year’s Grand Marshal
And here’s the escort motorcycle behind the Grand Marshal.
One PhotoCentral article down and plenty to go… and it’s only here on SouthsideCentral!

I know there are those that will see this as being petty…..but can SOMEONE PLEASE tell people how to spell “Marshal” when saying someone is the “Grand MARSHAL” and putting a sign on a vehicle. It’s only ONE L.
Heh. Believe it or not, I checked on that when I saw that. “GRAND MARSHALL” was listed as an alternative spelling. Though I agree with you.
