If you thought they had problems before… well, you’d be right. But it’s getting worse!
Sheriff’s office now audited by DMV
The DMV is bad enough if a regular citizen gets on their bad side, so just imagine the hilarity that’s about to ensue.
One of the more dramatic differences involves D.H. Perdue, a retired ranking deputy who earns about $10,000 a year working part time, according to sheriff’s office payroll records.
According the sheriff’s office grant paperwork, during the previous grant year Perdue was reimbursed for nine hours of overtime.
Under the first two quarters of the new grant, the sheriff’s office asked for reimbursement for Perdue for a total of 180 hours. Payroll documents obtained from the DMV show that the reimbursement requests for Perdue appear to have covered the entirety of his county wages from November to April.
The paperwork Perdue signed shows he gave 102 traffic warnings during that time but wrote not a single traffic ticket.
Hunt said his office calls Perdue in specifically to help with traffic enforcement on weekends. “If we don’t have enough people to work, we get him to work,” Hunt said.
Hoo boy. Hunt’s tap-dancing his way right out of office, and he’s doing it quickly.
