It’s a Halifax County Breaking News night!
One of our good sources has confirmed a shooting around the Henry’s Mill Rd. area of Vernon Hill. Vernon Hill VFD/EMT’s and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Department are on the scene now.
UPDATE #1: State Police are on the scene as well.
UPDATE #2: This case is being treated as a suicide.
Without name or names ,, why bother ???
I feel that most suicides are private issues.
Unless the person is newsworthy (see Gluhareff, Bob), I don’t see a need to identify the person. It would accomplish nothing except giving more grief to the family.
I truly understand about grief & Respect towards the family,,, but then again,, Don’t Report on A Half -Ass Story !!!! Keep it in the Closet !!!!!!!!!!!!
At the time that the story was breaking, it easily met the “newsworthy” threshold.
