The National Weather Service has confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in northern Pittsylvania County today.
From the National Weather Service office in Blacksburg…
10:48 AM – 4 miles N of Pittsville – EF1 tornado confirmed by NWS damage survey. Mostly trees down. One tree down on a house.
11:02 AM – 2 miles SSW of Altavista – An EF1 tornado tracked about 0.6 tenths of mile in the town of hurt. Eight structures were damaged. Two homes had trees that had fallen through the roof.
