It’s not a good sign when your former congressman raises less money in three months than you could get on the corner of a busy street in 3 hours.
Virgil Goode raised $154 for likely 2010 bid
$154. Ouch. If Virgil runs again, Robert Hurt says he’ll defer to him. Hurt has a better chance of winning against Perriello than Goode does at this time.
Obviously Virgil’s strategy of selling pencils on the street corner is not working out too well. I think it’s time for him graduate up to street performer.
I’d probably still vote for him over Tommy-Boy any day however. Perriello’s aura of smug is somewhat overwhelming.
If Virgil was trying to raise funds don’t be mistaken he would not have a problem. He may just want to let the 2009 races be over before he starts.
Virgil at last report I had; was not raising money; he has filed FEC paperwork because unsolicited donations keep coming in. That may change; given the uproar of Periellos recent disregard to the voters.
There is also a fellow by the name of Bradley Rees in the race for the Republican nomination
