We’ve got an incumbent and a challenger in this election cycle.
Arthur Reynolds is the incumbent for this district and Kim Farson is the challenger. Let’s go to a rundown.
>>>>>
Reynolds – Going for his 3rd term on the school board, not seen as totally in lockstep with Paul Stapleton.
Farson – Newcomer to the election game, three children in the HCPS system, has volunteered in HCPS.
>>>>>
Breakdown & Random Thoughts – Stapleton is very disliked by the general public, so incumbents have a hard time this cycle. Reynolds is the only incumbent so will this race be seen as a referendum on Stapleton? Both candidates are qualified for the office so that’s a non-issue. Just like the previous school board elections, as of now the advantage belongs to the challenger (see Bailey, Rister, Ratliff, Furches). Farson is starting to get her word out with nothing from Reynolds so far.
>>>>>
Prediction of the popular vote: Farson 55%, Reynolds 45%
>>>>>
OddsMakers of the candidate winning the election: Farson 60%, Reynolds 40%
This is a race we’re closely watching. We’ll have updates on a regular basis.
