Farmville murder suspect to make 1st court appearance Monday

For some odd reason, this heinous case hasn’t gotten much press…

Police arrest Calif. man in 4 killings near Longwood University

I’m interested in seeing what all of these murder victims had in common and how one 20 year-old guy was able to overpower four people. I’m sure there are going to be sordid details coming out of this one.

I have been gobsmacked at how this is not getting much press….it was the headline front page in the Richmond Times Dispatch. I THINK I saw it on CNN and or HLN in passing . Perhaps since it really hit over the weekend….

it is increasingly horrific as it unfolds.

May be seeing this one on Nancy Grace, etc….not sure that is a good thing, or a bad thing.

the “overpowering 4 people” question is on my mind, too. and i haven’t heard any rumors of gunshots.

plus, was he staying in the house with the decomposing bodies?

and a law enforcement officer told me today that it doesn’t take long at all for a body to decompose so theoretically they could have been dead only a day or two.

plus, we all assume this guy did it, but what is tying him to the crime? gun? weird notes on the bodies? by now has he confessed?

finally, it suits me that the nat’l media doesn’t catch this one. but if they do, it looks like the Farmville PD & the Prince Edward Commonwealth’s Attorneys office have done a professional job so far.

I haven’t seen the story anywhere except for the Times-Dispatch. The university sent out a notification Friday evening around 9:30. Their reasoning was that the victims had been dead a long time so there wasn’t any immediate danger.

now this is on the Richmond news outlets. but they aren’t updating very well.

I just read that the women were probably killed earlier than the man. The minister who was killed was seen late Thursday evening; so evidently he was killed when he came to the house. And I was also wondering if these girls were in school? It seems as if the girl that was visiting may have been there for a while and it was stated somewhere that the two girls plus the nutcase killer were together at a concert in September. Lots of questions; no many answers yet.

  • i know(knew) the three parties involved. i was at the event they attended the day before and they all seemed find, sam, the suspect was very polite and quite. i drank some beer with him and just talked, the girls were just there trying to let loose a little, they werent using drugs or anything. after the event sam rode home with his girlfriend, emma to her parents house with the other girl to stay and spend time with her. after emmas friends mother worried after she didnt return she called the promoter of the event to find out some info.

he had the house address of emma from merchendise orders he sent them and he himself informed police. police concured they had been murdered and told the promoter. he then contacted the parents personaly becouse police would not at the time.

sam was caught at the airport the next day. the weird thing is that he didnt have any money and somehow got a plane ticket, i think he killed them, stayed there for awhile, came up with money, drove the parents car to the airport and then got caught trying to return to california….

let me tell you this, i am 100 percent certain he didnt have a gun, if it was a gun used ge got it in the home, knowing him personaly i can garuntee you he killed them with a knife.

anyway its very sad and unfortunate for those who knew them…

I live in farmville. My understanding is that he had a ticket to ca that he couldn’t be used early. He did not have the 150.oo to change it and that is why he was waiting. The concert mentioned in the blog above, was the concert in Michigan? I don’t think that there were any concerts in Farmville this week. No one has mentioned the age of the girls or school or jobs? or the murderers family situation. Also, the girls My Space is open to look at without a problem, not as has been reported. I am also wondering why the national news is not reportinng the details more. I doubt the kids who listen to this music expect their fellow fans/friends? to murder them! What are they thinking saying this is just a music genre? The guy who runs the music company’s My Space is interesting. They are all portrayed as “nice guys” ect, but they talk about anything but! His My Space has pictures of Jesus all over it and says God is for the Weak. I think that if he believes that, then it is unfair to send people to Jesus prematurely. He is sick and promotes horrid murder.

I, too, have been following any reports I can get on the suspect, the case, and the music. I found it amazing that the professor and the minister actually drove the girls to the concert and then brought back this California guy, whom they didn’t know. Michigan is a long drive from Farmville. That is at least a 10 hour drive each way! The daughter corresponded with him on the Internet and appeared to be infatuated with him. A teen crush probably. The guy needs a psychiatric exam. He appears to be very cool under police interrogation. He even invited police to search the home after the people were dead! (They came after he called Friday a.m. in the middle of the night! He said he heard noises in the basement.) The most interesting thing is the Farmville Police are using an expert in Satanic rituals as symbols were found in the home. There is a lot of forensic evidence to comb through. I hope they get lots of help from experts. I hope this does get national coverage, so parents can worry if their children are listening to such music. It isn’t a cause of such tradegy, but a symptom of an illness that exists in ones character. I hope that Nancy Grace picks up the story too.
