This one is edging over to the “bizarre” section on the Strange-O-Meter.
From the Danville Police Department…
Danville Police were alerted to a disturbance on Court Street just outside the Police Department at about 7:30 pm (Monday) where a Danville man reported he was forced into a vehicle against his will while he was on Patton Street in front of the Danville Public Library.
The victim reported he was taken from Patton Street by force and against his will by brothers Anthony Lamont Hodnett and Eddie Hodnett. After he was forced into their vehicle, he was taken to Dan Daniel Memorial Park where the Hodnett brothers threatened to kill him. The victim was eventually returned to Court Street and released unharmed. Both Hodnetts were charged with: Abduction (S.C. 18.2-47) Anthony Lamont Hodnett is currently being held in the Danville City Jail under $7,000.00 bond and Eddie Ray Hodnett is being held in the Danville City Jail under $25,000.00 bond. The Danville Police Department investigation continues.
Here’s some questions that enquiring minds want to know…
- If you’re going to abduct somebody, do you really want to do it less than 200 feet from the friggin’ Police Department?
- Is Dan Daniel Park the new place to threaten to kill people? If so, how did Green St. Park lose that reputation?
- Since they kidnapped the guy in front of the library, it was nice that they returned him to the library. They also returned him to the library on time to avoid “overdue” fines.
How bizarre.
