Sierra Club’s Community Meeting for Clean Energy Jobs – Thursday (1/21)

The Sierra Club’s “Clean Energy Jobs Campaign” is going to have a meeting at Danville’s Public Library on Thursday night from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. SouthsideCentral plans to be there LIVE! and we’ll have photos from the event.

From a press release…

As you read this, America is in need for a new clean energy job economy. Our economy remains dependent on dirty energy sources that are continuing to lose jobs, threaten our national security, and pollute our environment.

Virginia families are struggling with unemployment at an extreme high. Every day we’re sending $1.2 billion overseas for foreign oil and polluting our environment.

The good news is that we have solutions. That’s why we here in Virginia are joining a national campaign to pass a strong clean energy plan through Congress this spring that will bring 45,000 new clean energy jobs to Virginia strengthen national security, and limit dangerous pollution. We have the resources right here to jump-start a clean energy economy by supporting the clean energy plan.

We can make this happen this spring, but we need YOUR help. The best way to learn more, meet others in the community, hear local speakers, and get involved is to come to our: *Community Meeting for Clean Energy Jobs* Thursday night at the Danville Public Library.

With the recent push for bio-energy solutions centered around the Southside area, we look forward to seeing what this group has to say.
