Nature at work

Sometimes you’re just in the right place to snap the perfect photo…

Cool tracks in the snow. Any guesses?

Be sure to read the whole blog article to get the excellent description. Nature at work, indeed.

    very cool, thanks!

After the immediately prior snow, there were some amazing tracks outside my office window. Lots of deer and rabbits, of course. But in the middle, just as I was thinking, “What could have done that without tracks to and fro?” I realized it was a hole where a hawk swooped down and grabbed some dinner. The giveaway was the ‘rays’ where the wing feathers brushed the top of the snow.

We have a beautiful hawk who lives right behind our house. She squawks at us when we walk the dogs around the farm – an eerie sound. It’s awesome to watch her dive into the hayfields for a snack.
