And you’re buying one for the Lynchburg police department!
Lynchburg, Campbell police earn Homeland Security grants
Lynchburg’s grant, if approved by City Council, will buy an armored incident response vehicle with “chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive” resistant capabilities. It would be a response vehicle for the department’s tactical unit, Capt. Al Thomas said.
…
The vehicle’s minimum requirements include ballistic protection, self-contained breathing apparatus and explosive gas and radiation detection systems.
It’s nice to see that they’re getting a $285,000 federal grant for that vehicle… until you realize where that money came from.
“the two departments are among 45 in the state that received a total of $4.9 million.”
Wonder if the Halifax County jurisdiction is getting some of that pie too?
