Let’s take a look at what happened at tonight’s Danville City Council meeting…
Tonight, Danville City Council authorized the money needed to buy land for a new downtown fire station which would house the 911 Emergency Operations & Dispatch center. They also appropriated $5,200,000 for mandated social services funds.
In new business, Council started the process for getting $10,000 of matching funds to help promote the airport. Council also authorized a grant application for transit system funds, approved a memorandum regarding the Danville Science Center’s large-format theater and supported a Tobacco Commission R&D grant to help NextGen Aeronautics.
In the around-the-horn comment session, Councilman Larry Campbell commented on what the city could do to increase customer satisfaction with Danville Utilities. City Manager Joe King said that there was no easy way to tell people bad news about high electric bills. David Luther put it quite simply “You were billed for what you used”.
That’s the recap from tonight’s City Council meeting. We’re keeping the Cover It Live! down below for reference, but honestly, there’s not much there. 🙂
