Up? Down? All around? Let’s get to some Thumbs!
Let’s play!
- Thumbs DOWN! to Danville TEA Party leader Nigel Coleman for his comments about the publishing of (what they thought was) Tom Perriello’s home address and the encouragement of people to “visit and tell them what they thought about his vote for the health care bill”. Of course, it was really the address of Perriello’s brother and we all know the fallout from that incident. Well, Nigel Coleman posted “Oh well, collateral damage” on his Facebook account after he knew the information was false. Coleman still hasn’t denounced the entire incident so he’s getting a giant Thumbs DOWN! for his stunt.
- Thumbs DOWN! to the rash of armed robberies that’s been plaguing Halifax County. Three convenience stores hit in the past week are putting people on edge and keeping the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office busy tracking the criminals down. Here’s hoping that they solve these crimes quickly.
After all that leadoff negativity, let’s get some good stuff going.
- Thumbs UP! to the Martinsville Speedway for putting on another great show for this past weekend’s racing activities. This was my first time at Martinsville Speedway as a media representative and I was highly impressed with the way that they handled everything to help us do our jobs. In the same line of thinking…
- Thumbs UP! to the great Martinsville Speedway fan base. Everybody is there to have a great time and the best example was Friday afternoon. We were looking for a place to shoot our 4PM show and Charles met two great Canadian families who were perfectly willing to let us set up under their tarps and do what as probably the best Buzz show ever. That’s what the spirit is at the speedway, folks.
Got any Thumbs! of your own? Comments on these? You know what to do!

NASCAR is big business. Martinsville is fortunate to have a venue for NASCAR.
also, NASCAR fans are all pretty friendly to each other. You were in good company.
RE: Rash of Robberies – With more budget cuts to come in public safety, the bad guys will further outnumber the good guys. Our government is filled with morons. In a bad economy, the first things they cut are public safety and education. Crime goes up and the police can’t keep up. Repeat offenders get slapped on the wrist time and time again. RIP good government judgment.
repeat offenders are not slapped on the wrist. there are sentencing guidelines. and in some cases, sentences are mandatory.
