They’ve certainly got the right man working this theft.
This afternoon, William J. Long reported the theft of a set of golf clubs from the Halifax Country Club. Mizuno & Nike golf clubs, a golf bag, a Virginia Tech umbrella, golf balls and tees were stolen between 2:30 & 3:45 PM. The items were stolen from near the rear entrance to the clubhouse and have a value of over $3,000. Halifax Police Lt. David Irby & Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Jimmy Clay are working this case. If you have any information regarding this theft, call the Halifax Police Department at 434-476-2526 or the Halifax County Crime Line at 434-476-8445. If your tip results in an arrest and conviction, you will be eligible to receive a cash reward.
Although I feel bad for W.J. about the loss of his golf clubs, you’re not going to find a police officer that knows his way around a golf course better than Jimmy Clay does. I’m betting that he’s checking out every hole on the golf course at least twice to make sure that the stolen golf clubs aren’t just laying on the fairways and the greens. It will also be the first time that Jimmy Clay has had to search the tree area on a golf course in a long time. 😀
Trust me, Jimmy is VERY familiar with searching the trees for clubs. Hahaha!
