That rhymes with “You’re Fired!”, but it’s a nicer way to say it. The dysfunctional Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors seems to have struck again.
Dan Sleeper, Pittsylvania County administrator, retires
I’ve got absolutely no proof that Dan Sleeper was fired by that board of idiots, but let’s get real. County administrators don’t retire instantly without any notice and when a county administrators retires under good graces, the Board of Supervisors are right there singing the praises of the work he did.
Instead, we get “the county needs to move in a different direction” and “Dan was a good county supervisor, and now the county is moving on” . Yeah… I’m sure Dan Sleeper decided to retire immediately.
Knowing what I know about Dan Sleeper, I’m betting that he told the Board of Supervisors that they were acting like a bunch of power-corrupted idiots. He probably told them to drop the stupid prayer lawsuit because they were wasting taxpayer money and had no chance in hell or winning.
Until I’m proven otherwise, I’m saying that Dan Sleeper had no plans to retire and the Board of Supervisors fired him on Monday night. I’m totally ashamed at what this current group of morons have done in this term. Pittsylvania County voters should be ready to vote this entire bunch of incompetent power-mad people out in the next election. Yeah, I said it.
And you left out the fact this same crowd fired the perfectly competent economic development officer for the county–making Pittsylvania (and its economic woes) the laughing-stock of the state. And only this week the Richmond Times-Dispatch was ridiculing .Chairman Ecker for “standing with Jesus” instead of the people who elected him to serve their interests. And what about the poor fellows suing the county over being capriciously rejected in their bid to establish a money-making, tax-paying distillery that would hire people to work? Or the flat-out rejection of the prospective uranium operation? Can you imagine the quality of person who would be dumb enough to hire on as the new county administrator? I’m not sure that even Chairman Ecker’s Jesus would be so bold.

Would you happen to have a link to the Richmond Times Dispatch story? Very curious to read.
