I’ve heard some lousy excuses before, but this one tops them all.

Gary Creed opts out of forum, effectively canceling it

Let me get this straight. Doing the job you’re elected to is a good reason to miss choir practice, but to take part in a forum about getting re-hired to that job by the voters isn’t?

To make it worse… once he found out that his withdrawal cancels the whole thing, he refuses to participate in the forum anyway? Hey Gary? The choir can do without you for one more practice. You’re just one voice out of many there. On the Board of Supervisors, you’re one voice out of a very few.

I’ll close this article out by saying “Fooey!” to the League of Women Voters rules, as his opponent should get her chance to say her viewpoints anyway. It’s not her fault that her opponent bailed out.
