I hear people talk about the costs, but lawmakers [in Richmond] need to figure out a way to get this done. That’s what politicians do — figure out ways to get things done.
Remember, this is the same Mayor Sherman Saunders who went all the way through the budget process two (three?) years ago supporting everything then changing his mind and voting “No” when it came time to enacting it. This is the same Mayor Sherman Saunders who got quite perturbed when Adam Tomer rightfully and publicly called him out for grandstanding to the citizens with his “No” vote.
Danville’s next budget cycle is now underway. Let’s all remind Mayor Sherman Saunders that he needs to “get things done” just like the Richmond lawmakers … and cast a “yes” vote once he “gets things done”.
And when exactly does the money run out?
It’s the federal government. Nothing is “exactly” there and you know that. It starts decreasing in Year 3.
