I’ve got to give Henry County officials credit for doing the right thing.
You may remember a few days ago when I told you about a bad decision made by the Henry County Board of Zoning Appeals. Well, it looks like the county planning director realizes that any new small business is a good idea for their county that’s in poor economic shape.
Planner reviews potential sites for distillery
Think about the tax revenue that would come in from a $175K building investment and from up to 5000 gallons of whiskey. Add that to the benefits of a few new jobs and the local purchases of grain and you’ve got a business plan that has a great chance of succeeding. I don’t believe that I really need to mention the demand for such a product.
Pittsylvania County let this go without governmental staff trying to help this company start up. Henry County is going the extra mile and they deserve the recognition for that.
