I’ve been thinking of a few things…
Let’s do another RandomThoughts Big Board, shall we?
- Rooster Walk, the outdoor concert event on the Henry/Patrick County line is simply amazing. It’s been a semi-secret event for the first six years and they’ll probably expand the event next year. Tickets are very affordable and the profits go for a scholarship fund.
- Half priced Domino’s pizzas are fair-priced. There’s no way that a large pizza with everything is worth almost $20 at regular price.
- Speaking of Domino’s, this RandomThought goes back a long time. During one of this winter’s snowstorm, I stopped there on the way home to get a pizza for carryout. People had no business getting on the roads because conditions were deteriorating quickly. Unbelievably, people were calling Domino’s and got mad when they said they weren’t delivering any more that day. I found that hard to believe that people would take that kind of attitude.
- DCC’s tuition for a normal college year is now over $4,000 (and that’s just tuition). That’s $136 per credit hour. I remember when it was around $40. Sigh.
- There’s no finer person when it comes to animals than Reidsville’s Miss Deb Sterling. She’s a sweetheart anyway, but her devotion to all animals makes her a true angel.
- Want one of the best hamburgers in the region? Go to Gina’s Family Restaurant on North Main St. in Danville.
- Downtown Danville, you still have a parking problem.
- Can Danville really have the business support for two big-box sporting goods stores? With Dunham’s Sports coming to
PiedmontDanville Mall, Dick’s Sporting Goods is going to be impacted. But then, PetSmart and Petco have survived this long in direct competition. - I always want to go to Danville’s Midtown Supermarket, but I never go there.
Wow. Lots of those RandomThoughts were food based. I guess it’s lunchtime. More coming on SouthsideCentral!
How can you never go to Midtown???? Weird. I can’t pass a week without stopping by for a little something something .
Weird is right. I’m rarely on the south side of town and when I’m near there, I never seem to remember. I’ve set a location reminder in my phone to solve this.
