Where in the hell is my Big Board? Oh… here it comes.
- I completely missed the Halifax County Heritage Festival this year. Totally forgot about it. Bad me.
- The Halifax County Fair is getting back into the name-brand entertainment business this year. They’re pulling in a solid B-List country artist (Colt Ford) and charging admission to his show that ranges from $25 to $35 (that includes the fair admission). Gotta admit, they’re trying something different. Let’s see if it works.
- Danville’s Relay For Life was held Friday night at the Carrington Pavilion. I am sensing a bit of resentment from local people towards the event because lots of the fundraising goes to the American Cancer Society and not to local people (like the Danville Cancer Society does with their funding). Am I on target with that, folks?
- Frozen yogurt isn’t worth 40 cents per ounce. Frozen yogurt toppings are definitely not worth 40 cents per ounce.
- Does anybody go skating or bowling anymore?
- I was wrong on the Virginia Cantaloupe Festival’s date earlier. It’s June 13th.
- If South Boston’s Comcast cable system can do a few hours of live programming once a year for the high school graduation, why can’t they do more for community events?
