Or “reassigned”. Superintendent Merle Herndon and the Halifax County School Board can create a lot of talk just one week after graduation.
HCHS has new interim principal; Randolph transferred to middle school
Well, isn’t that special. I think we need a Big Board.
- This has to be more than a routine spin-around of administration. We all know that.
- From what I’ve heard from teachers in the school system, this was quite unexpected.
- The timing of this (the week after graduation) makes this even more bizarre.
- Superintendent Merle Herndon and the school board “luck out” on any explanation of what really happened because of “Ye Olde Personnel Matters”. I’m sure there’s some school board members that want to speak out about this.
- Since Albert Randolph held the flagship position at the biggest school, any step down is a demotion.
- How many people want to bet on an Albert Randolph retirement before the new school year starts?
- This HCHS “interim principal” probably won’t be the principal at the start of the new school year. Flagship positions like this usually come from outside candidates, in the same way that Albert Randolph did.
- I’m quite surprised at the outpouring of support for Albert Randolph by the same teachers who criticized him for things like telling the teachers not to talk about certain things or covering things up to make things look tidy.
- Although the big fish is the top of the report, I’ve got to wonder about the firing of the other teachers as well. The motorsports teacher? The other teacher? That’s a nice way to say “Enjoy your permanent summer break.”
- As usual, the comment section is quite entertaining. We even get a “Nazi” reference and the word “testicles”.
Something stinks about this, but we may never know the answers. If we find anything out, we’ll keep you updated on SouthsideCentral.
Speaking as a former student, Cheryl Reaves was not a good teacher. I had her for my third year of French and she did not do her job very well. No one else in the class liked her. It was her first year, in 2010. I am not one bit surprised she was let go. Even the smartest kids struggled in her class, because she didn’t do much teaching more a lot of talking about personal issues.
