We had a feeling it was going to happen soon…
According to an employee who worked at the Danville Libby Hill restaurant on Riverside Drive, he was called by management before his shift started and told that the restaurant had closed for good. There was no advance notice to the employees.
I have confirmed that the Reidsville restaurant is still open.
Man, you nailed that one.
Is suggesting the oft-relocated Phi-lly Cheese Steaks and Things is the most likely next domino to fall on that stretch? I was at Highlander for lunch recently, and the place was dead. I get the sense that Ham’s and Highlander more than make up for it as bars, though. How is business at Mayflower?
If you can’t sell deep fried anything in Danville, you’re doing something wrong! Business at Mayflower seems to be booming.
Lee Smallwood, I’m not sure Highlander’s ever recovered from the shooting they had sometime back, although they’ve successfully switched their demographic. I’ve never been there when it was packed, which is a shame because they’re one of the few places that has a great outdoor seating area.
Mayflower seems to still hop. However, I do wonder about Highlanders. It’s a shame, they’re not a bad restaurant. But….it’s rare to see much happening there except for Saturday nights. I hope I’m wrong. I hope all local businesses thrive.
Another empty restaurant on Riverside Drive? I guess we can look forward to another Robert Woodall something or other in the near future. Robert said “Buy em” or something like that…
Mayflower is always hopping lines to get in and at the take away there is always lots of folks there as well. When i go in to get mine that i have called in the phone is constantly ringing and folks coming in either to get theres to go of to order.
