Our fifth (and final?) LIVE! event of the day takes us to Jake’s on Main restaurant for a session with Secretary of the Commonwealth Levar Stoney. He’s going to talk about the process for getting appointed to Virginia’s boards and commissions.

We’re underway. Steven Gould is our host today and Secretary of the Commonwealth Levar Stoney is our guest.
Levar Stoney talks about the process of appointing people to commissions and boards. Over 4000 positions need to be filled. Most are unpaid. Lots available for citizens with no specific experience on some. Minor criminal records are not disqualifications for appointment, with those being handled case by case.
Levar Stoney is a very outgoing and friendly man. I’ve learned a lot about the boards & commissions appointment process today.
We’ll wrap this article up with more photos below.
I know all of the ones in the last picture. Could not help but notice the “all” male pic.
The following is a joke. Do not even think I truly believe what I am about to say.
“Of course all the men were still at the bar. The women had to go home and cook supper.”
This was a bad joke with horrible taste. You’re welcome.
Continuing: “That’s why their feet are shorter”.
Insert Bruce’s disclaimer here.
I like the “youth movement” in the last photo. A good day for our city. Anytime you can have the Governor and his entire cabinet spend the day in Danville, it’s a positive thing.
It is a shame that the “youth” movement does not include females. 😉
