The catchy opening line goes here. I’m out of catchy opening lines.
But I’m not out of Big Boards!
- Jerk of the Month goes to a little fat guy that came into Olive Garden last night and said “I want a good waiter. I don’t have time to deal with a bad one.”
- Happy Trails, PJ’s Bookstore. Sad, but their limited hours meant I didn’t have a chance to go there much.
- Speaking of that, Piney Forest Rd. (in that segment) is becoming a ghost town.
- Speaking of that, so is 58 east at the city limits (except on Saturdays at the Ringgold flea market).
- “Shhh…” , the adult store in the Mt. Hermon area has bought some billboard ad space. I’m sure heads have exploded.
- There’s a methadone clinic in Brosville? Let’s see how this plays out with the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors next week.
- Ollie’s Bargain Outlet doesn’t really seem to have that many bargains.
That’s some RandomThoughts! We’ve got more coming up on SouthsideCentral!
Does anyone else remember when PJ’s was the comic book/baseball card mecca of Southside? As a child of the 80s, I remember going over there on Saturdays and the store was packed with kids.
I see Macerata Wheels is completely shut down and building padlocked. Anyone have any news on this fiasco? Where are jobs and where is the money? Anyone checking in to this?
Yes. I’m having a hard time figuring it our. One side claims the building was substandard. The city is not saying anything because they could get sued. Yeah, this is complicated.
So if it’s just a substandard building, they’re up and running in another one, right? Hmm. Sounds to me like a Web Parts with smarter counsel.
Drug treatment center has been there for over three years. Hasn’t been a problem and people would not even know it was there. Very well run facility.
It would be terrific if somebody opened a complimentary residential treatment option for the crushing drug problem in the area.
I expect a lot of NOT IN MY BACK YARD blustering to happen very soon.
With Carini’s, Joe & Mimmas, and Nonni’s closed on Mondays, I sort of feel for the short fat guy. Maybe he should choose a different day than Mondayto eat Italian in this town so he can get something better than Olive Garden.
Franks, Ciros are Italian and open on Monday.
Ciros is more a pizza and sandwiches only destination in my mind (I had pasta there that wasn’t bad though actually). Franks I would put below Olive Garden.
Whether or not Franks and ciros meet your approval, they are Italian restaurants and they are open on Monday. That was the question. Also the owners are from italy. How many Italians are at olive garden?
It was my question, and it was better than Olive Garden. See above. :p
I have to admit I haven’t tried the non-pizza/sandwich at Frank’s. I got early advice that it would be a let down and haven’t really ever challenged that.
