- Let’s start by making people mad at me. “Trunk or Treat” is a stupid-ass concept if you’re using it as a religious substitute for Halloween. They’re kids. They’re having fun. If you think that Halloween is a Satanic ritual, I can’t help you there. If the kids want to dress up like a zombie or a awesomely-cute jellyfish (Yeah Kelly!), they’re not being anti-Christian.
- Magna Vista rang up 78 points against Halifax County in high school football last night. Yay Sportsmanship!
- I’m guessing it’s quite politically incorrect to use Halifax County High School football coach Kenneth Day’s nickname. “Spook” probably wouldn’t be appreciated.
- Intersections (call center) in Altavista is closing, sending 70+ to the unemployment line. They never got close to the 250 jobs that they promised. Don’t be surprised when I tell you that they got $100K of Tobacco Commission money.
- Is there any event in Danville that Barbara Seamster isn’t either involved with or is there? We heart Barbara (and her radio stations).
- Carlbrook School is a mystery to most Southside residents (if they even know it exists), and they’re perfectly happy with that.
- Now that I’ve already voted (absentee), I can completely tune out all of these political ads.
- Remember when the Eden Mall was actually something worth going to?

My random question. Is the Tank Museum on 29 staying here. I noticed they have what looks like a new light up sign with their hours on it. It may have been there a while since I don’t go in that direction very often. Just wondering.
I will look into that. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
I live near train tracks and a couple of weeks after they announced they were leaving a train rolled by with a bunch of random tanks on. I assumed they were from the museum because they weren’t really modern. I’m guessing at least some of the tanks are gone (or they brought them back)
Their FB page certainly suggests to me the move has been canceled. They probably ought to have told folks.

No, that’s a regular Halloween type of event.
Church’s don’t use trunk or treat as substitute. It’s for kids to have a safe place to go. Do you attend church? Not all Christians see Halloween as satanic. It’s what you make it. Kids deserve a safe place to enjoy the night.
Oh, some do. And Halloween is safe no matter where you go. Despite the horror hoaxes.

There is someone somewhere that will harm children in many ways. Do you read the news or do you only spout your versions of the news?
If people did not harm children, there would be no need for the bedford and pittsylvsnia Co task force on child pornography.
Have you seen the news where there is human trafficking? Some young adult women have been killed. You know about that? This has nothing to do with Halloween, but Halloween provides an opportunity for bad things, not that the bad guys need it.
Churches provide an option, what is the problem?

one town is having Trunk or Treat on the main downtown road. it was the NAACP that wanted it. i have no idea of the NAACP rationale.
& I know some evangelical fundamental Christians who think the whole Halloween concept is satanic. But they also don’t believe in dinosaurs.
