My “Special Friend”

If the whole situation of a murdered 19-month old child wasn’t farked up already, this just puts it over the edge.

By now, you’ve probably heard about the case of Aleigha Sadler, the 19-month old girl who was killed by a savage beating. Here’s the Danville Police Department’s media release on that…

The Danville Police Department is investigating a child’s death as a homicide.

Shortly after 9:00 pm last Thursday evening, Fire and EMS responded to a residence in the 100 block of West Woodlawn Dr. for a report of an unresponsive 20-month old child. The child was transported to Danville Regional Medical Center and subsequently flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment. The Danville Police Department’s Investigative Division and Child Protective Services were both notified and responded.

Medical staff pronounced the child dead yesterday afternoon, and the body was transported this morning to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke for an autopsy. The cause of death has been listed as homicide by blunt force trauma. The child has been identified as Aleigha Grace Sadler, age 20 months. The Danville Police Department is working closely with Danville Child Protective Services in this case. The investigation is continuing.

The police department picked up Michael Gill and charged him with felony child abuse and neglect. He’s under a $50,000 bond and that will hold him in jail until other charges are ready to be filed. That means murder, people. Of course he’s presumed innocent by the courts, but I don’t have to be that generous to him. He beat the hell out of the kid and killed her. That will come out at his eventual trial. But here’s what made my head explode.

Aleigha is survived by her mother of Danville, VA and special friend Michael Gill.

What the hell? The mother’s “special friend” is in jail for beating the child to death. That “special friend” is heading to court on murder charges soon.

“Special friend” my ass. He killed the child. Whoever wrote that obituary needs to have their head examined… and I’ve got a strong feeling that a lot of people in this case need their head examined as well.
