I’ll tell you right now. They’re all Thumbs UP!
James Buckner came up with a great idea to raise money for the Danville Cancer Association during the month of November. “No-Shave November” was the plan for people to sell raffle tickets while growing beards during the month.
Let’s get to the Thumbs! Big Board…
- Thumbs UP! to James Buckner. He came up with the idea, solicited all the prize donations and put the event together. After being elected to Danville City Council, Buckner is fast becoming a community leader. That’s good for Danville.
- Thumbs UP! to the Danville Cancer Association. They do a great job supporting local people in their fight against cancer, yet a lot of Danville residents don’t know about the organization. Events like the “No-Shave November” raise awareness for the group… and that’s awesome.
- Thumbs UP! to Tony Turner for being the “Official Photographer” for the event. Tony’s an awesome guy and I was glad to finally “meet” him at the event.
- Thumbs UP! to Dell’Anno’s Pizza Kitchen for being the hose for the three get-togethers during the event. Awesome food, cold beer. Who could ask for more?
- Finally, a big Thumbs UP! to everybody who participated. from the ones who grew beards to the people who bought raffle tickets or made donations… you all helped the Danville Cancer Association to help Danville residents in their battles against cancer.
Five Thumbs UP!. Over one hundred people participating. $1,400+ raised for a local charity.
That’s what Danville is all about.
