Let’s all think about this… randomly!
RandomThoughts! belong on a Big Board!
- I hate cold weather.
- We had to miss last night’s Danville School Board meeting due to complications, but nothing out of the ordinary happened. The main thing was the results of the annual audit, and that showed no real problems at all. It was good to know that GW’s football team had no players that were kicked off due to bad grades.
- Danville Utilities customers were able to come in under last year’s peak usage numbers during yesterday’s cold snap. Public Information Officer Arnold Hendrix tells SouthsideCentral that the peak of 214 megawatts came during Thursday’s 8 AM hour. That was 15 megawatts less than last winter’s peak of 229 megawatts. 10 megawatts of this year’s savings came from Danville’s Pinnacles plant that was offline during last year’s peak load period.
- You know, if Danville hadn’t fired that Ben Hairfield guy who disconnected that woman and her husband’s utilities last year, he could have done a lot of good saving more electricity. Heh.
- The Danville Expressway ramp on South Boston Road claims another overturned truck. That ramp is good for at least two of those a year no matter how many signs that the city puts up.
- The 2015 General Assembly session is about to start. Sadly, a majority of Southside residents have no idea what happens in Richmond nor any idea how it will affect them. Case in point, the shock and outrage about the gas tax increase that happened on January 1st. If you had been following the General Assembly, you would have known it was in the transportation bill that passed.
- Did I mention that I hate cold weather?
- Buy a jumpstart box that you can carry in your car. Not only will it save you one day (and you don’t have to have jumper cables and another car), but you can help other people out. I’ve jumpstarted 4 people with dead batteries in the last week and it’s a good feeling to help others out.
- Was this a RandomThoughts! article or was it a mix of everything? Feh. Who cares?
We’ve got more coming up on SouthsideCentral!
