Sunday is QuickHits! day. Let’s take a look at some stories that have caught my eye in the last week.
Let’s pull out a Big Board!
- Plans are almost finalized for the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s Fast Track 2015 trade show. It’s worth the drive to visit this one.
- No active jail time for the Ridgeway volunteer rescue squad worker who embezzled over $4200.
- Not guilty verdict in a Franklin County child neglect case where a 12-year-old shot and killed his 7-year-old half-brother.
- “A case of beer and a bottle of corn liquor”. Yeah, there was a shooting at that house. Bonus points for the defense attorney asking if the victim was a Muslim and a convicted terrorist. Seriously.
- “Help me find ways to stay sober and clean for the future.” The judge listened to that request and gave the guy 190 years in prison. Heh.
- A Greensboro man found a way to make broccoli slightly more desirable. 40 pounds of meth stashed under it.
That’s this week’s edition of QuickHits! We’ve got more coming up on SouthsideCentral.
