Hee hee. Just a quick one for this edition of RottenReporting. WSET’s reporters may know Southside VA (well sorta once they stay in Southside for more than six months), but their morning news producer in Lynchburg who updates their website is quite clueless.
So there was a bad fire on Halifax Road. That’s in Danville. Danville is an independent city in Pittsylvania County.
Let’s take a look at WSET’s website for their recap of the breaking news story.
Let’s submit this to our review panel. Judges?
We could maybe understand getting the headline wrong on a breaking news story. Or, we could possible live with getting the wrong firefighter company on a breaking news story. However, we can’t live with getting both of those wrong and not seeing the error (and correcting it) in over two hours.
That’s RottenReporting.
Nothing that is written by WSET reporters surprises me! At least this is grammatically correct. One of their reporters once wrote a sentence that had “Him and I” as the subject of the sentence. I was appalled that the station had allowed it to be published on its website.
WSET also had the same story with Halifax County on the 11pm news and had reporters in route to the scene!! I wonder if the reporters came to Halifax County?? Very sad story for the family that had lost 2 little girls!!
