In Part #8 of our tour through Danville’s Festival in the Park, we’re going to the dogs. Literally.
Here’s the recap of what we’ve published so far: Part #1 – Part #2 – Part #3 – Part #4 – Part #5 – Part #6 – Part #7
We’re finishing the business section and heading to the DockDogs area.
The Institute’s STEM Mobile Learning center is ready to go on Saturday.
In this year’s layout, Crafters’ Row isn’t on the long asphalt run. It’s under the shade of trees on the Park Avenue side of the upper park.
The childrens’ section is being set up for Saturday’s action. Ballou Park is beautiful.
It’s time for DockDogs as the competitors are getting ready. Son Wolen, HELLO!
The guy puled off an 18 foot jump into the pool.
This guy wants his toy. He wants his toy bad!
With 45 seconds left on the clock, the trainer is getting his dog to sit even though he sees his toy in the water.
Seven seconds later, he’s about 15 feet off the dock.
You can see he wants that toy. Look at that stare.
We’ve reached our indexing maximum of nine photos for this article. More fun with the DockDogs is coming up in Part #9!

I thought the craft vendors were really isolated from all the other activities in the park. The Dock Dogs were a big draw in the center but most of the activities were clustered on the upper side of the West Main Street entrance so people had to made an effort to go through the vendors rather than have them located where visitors could just stroll by and see what they were selling.
One of the major vendor “Things That Suck” was being put out in direct sunlight and getting roasted.
