Oops. I just realized that I missed last week’s QuickHits! article. Let’s get back on track.
It’s time to look at some of the articles that have caught my eyes over the last week. Sunday is QuickHits! day (um… except for last week).
Big Board, please!
- Happy Trails to fifteen former Martinsville Bulletin employees as the new owners move the printing operations to Roanoke.
- A local doctor’s son uses his father’s guns to shoot somebody in a Pittsylvania County home invasion last year. Bizarre.
- Altavista’s suspended police chief conveniently decides to retire and the town has “no hesitancy”.
- There’s a reason that VDOT flips a road sign around twice a year so people can’t see it.
- Eighty police calls a month “is a lot for 1.5 men police officers”. Say what? That includes traffic stops and is less than three per day.
- Halifax County’s upcoming sheriff’s election just got a lot more interesting. SouthsideCentral moves the outlook on this race to SAFE – Fred Clark all the way down to LEANING – Fred Clark.
And that’s one heck of a QuickHits! for you to read about. Always remember, the comment section is open for you.
We’ve got more coming up on SouthsideCentral!
Isn’t that exactly why other signs that only have occasional use are built generally to be covered with a cover or to fold in half? Moving the sign like that is very bizarre.
This is the wizardry of VDOT at work.
