PhotoCentral: Kentuck VFD Steak Dinner & Silent Auction – Part #4

Let’s wrap up our PhotoCentral series of articles covering Saturday night’s Kentuck Volunteer Fire Department Steak Dinner & Silent Auction. We’ve already published Part #1, Part #2 and Part #3 in the series. We’re already looking forward to 2016’s edition of this event.

OK. Enough walking around, visiting people and checking on silent auction items. I’m ready to eat.

Ok, fine. One last silent auction table that I hadn’t seen yet.

Now we’re talking. And they had hot dog meals for the kids, too.

Oh, good lord. Heh.

Maybe I should have gotten two plates for all of my food.

Dan River District Board of Supervisors challenger Joe Davis starts making his talk at the tables of potential voters.

Incumbent James Snead and his wife make one last walk through the silent auction tables.

Key lime pie. Yes, please.

Denis Leary’s documentary “Burn” was up on the silent auction.

The 5-minute warning is given for the auction items.

Whew. that’s it. We’re done. We’re also quite full from the terrific steak dinner.

I’ll defer and let a Kentuck Volunteer Fire Department member tell you all about the sponsors in the comment section (because I don’t want to leave anybody out).

We had a great time and SouthsideCentral is glad to help the Kentuck Volunteer Fire Department out in any way possible. Thanks for looking at this PhotoCentral series, folks.

Bruce the sponsors were as follows: Danville Toyota, Danville Regional Medical Center, Todd Breaux State Farm, Davenport Energy, Intertape Polymer Group, and Dr.McKinney and the staff at Rockingham Foot and Ankle! These businesses we’re and are a great help to this event! Danville Regional Medical Center, Todd Breaux State Farm, Intertape Polymer Group, and Dr.McKinney at Rockingham Foot and Ankle sponsored us both last year and this year, with the great people at Danville Toyota, and Davenport Energy coming on board this year.

The donors of the hundreds of items that were up for bid is a very long list in which I will over a period of time will list on our Facebook page (come like our page just search Kentuck Volunteer Fire Department and you’ll be able to find us easily) with thanks to all! I will say this much for the donors, the vast majority came from all over the country and yes even items from other countries with the furthest donation being from Australia!

I want to thank again as I did on our Facebook page, on the first Photo Central article, and to many in person, everyone who came out to support our event, the amazing sponsors, the donors from around the world, and last but certainly not least all of my extended family of brothers and sisters at Kentuck Volunteer Fire Department who helped along with many family and friends of our department and department members. Without these great people and businesses their wouldn’t have been a 1st or 2nd Annual Silent Auction and Steak Dinner or a Kentuck Volunteer Fire Department either as all volunteer departments rely on as we do, so many to continue to exist and operate. So I ask please support all your local and area volunteers as we all need all the support we can get no matter what area you live in!

Oh yeah by the way one last thank you which goes to Bruce Hedrick for taking time out of his busy schedule and coming out to cover this very important and fun event. Thanks Bruce for the kind words and the many words that came in form of the many photos, as the old saying goes, a picture is worth a 1000 words well Bruce you said a mouthful (at least when you weren’t eating, sorry couldn’t resist)!

I hope that through these Photo Central articles, many who didn’t know what this event was all about got just a taste of this amazing event and will join us along with the many who will come back to continue to support us at Kentuck Volunteer Fire Department next year for our 3rd Annual Silent Auction and Steak Dinner we look forward to it!

    Thanks again,
