Tragic news coming from Danville’s Goodyear plant tonight…
SouthsideCentral has confirmed that a worker was killed at Danville’s Goodyear plant tonight in an industrial accident. Multiple sources has confirmed that the accident happened in the calendar process area, where tread wires are embedded into the rubber tire material.
Here is the official statement from the local plant…
“We are deeply saddened to report that at approximately 9:30 pm Monday night, a fatality occurred in the Goodyear-Danville facility. Goodyear’s on-site emergency response team, as well as local emergency personnel responded immediately, and all parties are cooperating in the investigation into the root cause of the incident. Goodyear has reported the incident to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and will fully cooperate with the organization. Our hearts go out to the family, friends and co-workers of the employee during this very difficult time.
