It’s Sunday (well, it was when I started writing the article), so let’s take a look at some of the stories that have caught my eyes over the past week. “Quick! To the hits!”
Let’s just call this your Monday morning reading assignments.
The Big Board is taking its time coming out, but it’s ready to go…
- We’ll have to wait until the indictments are unsealed to see what really “allegedly” happened, but former Altavista police chief Ken Walsh was finally arrested after a long investigation.
- A 246-year old church in Penhook has been restored.
- “I’m here to help you, mom!” Oops.
- Two Martinsville school board members lightly snipe at each other through the newspaper.
- Mecklenburg County’s tourism director is leaving for a bigger job.
- A North Carolina mayoral candidate wants to “eradicate homosexuals”. Oh yeah, he also wants to outlaw alcohol and divorce.
- The best quote about a color run/walk? “It was like a rainbow threw up on me.”
- A 103 year old Greensboro man will get the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award this week. He’s been an Eagle Scout for 89 years.
With a great story like that, I’m stopping at eight QuickHits! We’ve got more coming up on SouthsideCentral!
