SouthsideCentral goes to as many events as possible in the region and we could easily start another website with just PhotoCentral articles… but I like to throw them in here when I can to make sure there’s plenty of content that you readers want to see.
On Saturday, September 19th, the town of Yanceyville NC held the annual Bright Leaf Hoedown. That was one of our multiple stops during the day so we’re going to start a new PhotoCentral series on scenes from the event. We’ve got tons of photos, and that means lots of PhotoCentral articles in the coming days (weeks? months? years? Heh.)
Let’s get started with our first article in the series.
And away we go walking towards the festival…

The Anderson Volunteer Fire Department is holding their annual car show in conjunction with the Hoedown.

Now that’s a lot of trophies!

Caswell County’s Confederate monument is in the middle of Court Square.

All car show participants were entered into drawings for door prizes… and they had plenty of them to win.

The beautiful Caswell County Courthouse makes a perfect backdrop for the beautiful cars.

The old Yanceyville fire truck sits in front of the Caswell County Historical Museum

The Caswell County Historical Society has their booth set up. We’ll be going inside the museum in articles yet to come.

Lots of churches had participatory activities for children at the Hoedown.
And that’s the end of Part #1. We’ve got plenty more articles on this series ready to go, and they’ll be coming up soon on SouthsideCentral!
Any bets how long that statue last ???????
I haven’t heard of any controversy on that statue yet.
Its coming as soon as someone wants to pull a Kim Davis and try to get 15 minutes of fame.
Thanks for the photos. Great job.
[…] rainy weather, but Yanceyville’s Bright Leaf Hoedown had perfect weather on September 19th. We’ve already published Part #1 of our PhotoCentral look at the festival, so let’s get back on track with Part #2 […]
