SouthsideCentral had a busy day on Sunday, so we’re moving our QuickHits! article to Monday this week. Let’s take a look at the stories that have caught my eye this past week.
We’ll shuffle out a Big Board for these QuickHits!
- The Axton man found dead with gunshot wounds did indeed die from gunshot wounds.
- The Spanish teacher speaks great Spanish. It’s just that she can’t really speak English.
- The defendant in an Alamance County shooting case never comes back to court for the rest of his trial and hasn’t been seen since.
- The old Burlington Industries site in Hurt has a new owner.
- And the town of Hurt seems to have run off their town clerk/treasurer?
- A Collinsville bicyclist was hit head-on by a car and taken to the hospital…then charged in the accident.
- A skydiver with over 1800 parachute jumps… um, you can probably finish this tragic headline for me.
- The town of Pamplin is looking to upgrade their sewage system so that houses on the west side can have indoor plumbing. Wait, What?!
- A drunk driver rear-ends a car while going about 35 mph… and the occupants of that car are the county sheriff and his chief deputy. Whoops!
- A Martinsville Bulletin reporter apparently nothing to write about so he asks a stupid question to local law enforcement.
- Appomattox’s interim town manager has been interim for five years and is ready to go. Well, there’s no hurry, I guess?
- There was a bomb threat at the South Boston Walmart Saturday night. The Walmart did not explode.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! That’s 12 Monday reading assignments for you. That should keep you busy!
Comments have been disabled for the article about the drunk driver slamming into the sheriff. I simultaneously wonder how comments for such an article got out of hand, and am sorry I missed it.
