We’re back with more on our second PhotoCentral tour of Reidsville’s Pennrose Mall. We had fun with Part #1 and we’re going to have fun with Part #2. Laugh along with us!
Let’s go inside and head up to the old JC Penney location…
Before we open the door, we notice a mysterious half-empty bag of potting soil sitting here for no apparent reason. And a stray Roses shopping cart.
Oh my. Somebody is actually buying one of the petrified gumballs from the machines. Oh yeah, there’s another stray Roses shopping cart.
This looks just like it did on our November trip. Buckets, pails and lots of water on the concrete floor.
Along with the ceiling tile that is out on the outside of the mall (?!), there’s an old fire exit type of sign in front of the dead end. Huh?
Since the “lights on each white pole” don’t work anymore, it’s safe to assume that this timer doesn’t work anymore either.
It appears that somebody has fired a shotgun loaded with grass clumps at the windows at the dead end.
Or maybe it’s art. Whatever it is, those grass clumps have stuck to the window for a long time.
I’m pretty sure that there’s a water meter under this, but God knows I’m not going to open anything marked “WATER” here.
Yummy, delicious green mold!
Two down and plenty more to go. More PhotoCentral articles from the still dead Pennrose Mall are coming up on SouthsideCentral!

The grass clumps were probably flung against the window by a lawnmower. Seeing as you took these photos in January, that means they had probably been stuck there for several months, if not longer.
