You’re loving our second series on Reidsville’s Pennrose Mall. Well, the numbers tell me that. We had a few hours to get lots of photos for this second series, so we’ve got lots of articles planned. We’ve already published Part #1 & Part #2. Let’s start Part #3 where we left off…
It’s hard to top the yucky green mold as we ended Part #2, but we’ll try.
Pennrose Mall is a non-smoking mall, just all malls in North Carolina are required to be. Nobody seems to give a damn about that, though.
The plastic tree adds a bit of false hope to the despair around it.
This is NOT Lake Reidsville. But it could be called that.
The is absolutely no explanation for what appears to be blood stains splattered on the dying fluorescent light fixture in the ceiling. Unless someone was murdered here. That being said, I could understand a drowning happening here.
This new leak started while I was taking photos and makes an odd bit of abstract art with the shadows on the mall doors. And yes, those mall doors are locked.
Ceiling tiles are finding creative ways to fall apart now.
Hearing all this water drip makes you have to go pee. I’m going to skip the obvious joke here and you say it for me.
Bob Adams’ Florist needs to empty a lot more of their plant food buckets for the mall to use.
We wrap up Part #3 of this tour by admiring the water stain on the white paper covering the interior side of the dead JC Penney glass doors. It vaguely looks like somebody giving us the finger. How appropriate.
Yeah. The mall is subconsciously giving us the finger, but we don’t care! Part #4 is coming up soon here on SouthsideCentral!

With all the locked doors, it is scary to think of being locked into this place!
Well, we could always throw a bucket and break the glass out. 😀
Come on Bruce don’t be so hard on them , they are at least catching water, maybe they recycle the water and water the plastic plant with it that has to be worth a few points.
