Today, Philip Haley announced that he will run for Danville City Council in the upcoming May elections. SouthsideCentral is glad to publish his campaign’s statement unedited so that our readers can see it in its entirety.
Again, this is from Philip Haley’s campaign.
Danville native, Philip A. Haley, is pleased to announce his candidacy for Danville City Council. Haley, a 1973 graduate of George Washington High School and 1977 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, recently returned to Danville after a 37 year financial services career in Richmond and Roanoke, VA and, most recently, Chicago, IL.
Haley is the President and CEO of the United Way of Danville-Pittsylvania County, is a member of the Riverview Rotary Club and attends Sacred Heart Church. He and his wife, Pat (Shelhorse) Haley, also a Danville native, have three adult children.
Haley says, “I am a firm believer in Danville and the invaluable work that is already being done by current stakeholders to move our city in the right direction. It is critical for Danville to invest in itself in order to create a competitive, diversified and flourishing economy for all of our citizens. We need to ensure we are investing in high quality education, a nimble and responsive workforce system for employers and employees, and an economic infrastructure in order to build a more prosperous city for generations to come.”
Finally a breath of fresh air and competence. Please advise where to pick up yard signs.
