Considering that a new Danville City Council meeting is coming up on Tuesday night, isn’t it about time that I publish a quick recap of what happened after the 109 minutes of flag speeches? Let’s fly through that quickly now. Henry Hurt tells us what happened when the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors blew it when they picked DCC Foundation executive director Shannon Hair for a seat on the Institute’s Board of Directors instead of Joyce Wright. I find them, you read them. Let’s take a look at some of the stories that have caught my eye over the past week. Sunday is QuickHits! day. It makes me feel good to say things that are true. If people get uncomfortable after hearing the truth, that’s even better. Let’s spread some truth about the Confederate flag issue. If there had been enough room, the headline would be “(A very few people in) Danville (make the effort to be) United”. We can do better than this, people.
