Let’s head out to the garden for today’s puzzle… Danville’s got a new TV station on the way! Matt Smith, the station manager at WGSR-TV, has written a narrative of the trails and tribulations of getting the new TV station on the air… It’s hot outside, but it’s cold in today’s puzzle! I did, and I’m looking forward to trying it! Thanks to the great feedback we’re getting on this idea, here’s the third in our fun series! Today, we’re heading to the animal kingdom. Wow! I think I speak for everybody when I say “Ewwwwwww!” Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…Jack Dunavant rams a resolution down the Hailfax Town Council’s throats. At tonight’s Danville City Council meeting, Ruby Archie was presented the 2010 Liberty Bell award by the Danville Bar Association. The meeting starts at 7 PM, and SouthsideCentral is here LIVE! Any event that’s lasted for 36 years has to be doing something right. Let’s look at some random thoughts about the Festival In The Park… The 36th annual “Festival In The Park” is going strong at Danville’s Ballou Park this weekend. Here’s a photo slideshow of some of Saturday’s activities. The second Reidsville Cruise-In of the seaon was held on Friday, May 14th. It was a perfect evening, with the thunderstorms holding off until everybody went home. Here’s some photos from the event. Tonight (5/14), it’s the 2nd Reidsville Cruise-In of the season! Just when you think it couldn’t get worse for Henry County, Stanley Furniture announces plans to eliminate 500+ jobs. This is a disappointing development. Let’s get back into politics and see what’s been going on in the race for the Republican nomination for the 5th District House of Representatives fall election.
