(Last update – Danville City Council Race – Update #4) The candidate forums are now finished, and it’s time to see what the five candidates for the four Danville City Council seats have to do to win. And I’m pissed about it… seriously pissed. What a waste of a beautiful example of wildlife. The five candidates for City Council got together today at Danville’s Liberty Hill Baptist Church for a forum sponsored by the Danville Ministerial Alliance. Let’s go to some random thoughts… It’s Two for the Price of One! And they’ll throw in some interior design work as a bonus. It’s sad news, but it will bring closure to the family. November 2nd is a long way away, but the first campaign office has opened in Danville. (Caution: This is in the OpinionCentral category for a reason.) Danville’s Piedmont Mall held there first Cruise-In of the season on Saturday night. SouthsideCentral was there for some photos. Some guy originally from Danville is now a “movie” “star”. (Yes, those “quote marks” are “supposed” to be there.) Whoopee. The Friday edition of “Danville Tonight” is now back on WGSR (Star News)! Ward Armstrong must not have seen his name in the spotlight lately. Tuesday morning, the Danville-Pittsylvania Chamber of Commerce sponsored a breakfast meeting at the Stratford Courtyard Conference Center. The five candidates for Danville City Council had a chance to address the business community. Let’s take a look at what happened in yet another “random thoughts” format article. 😉 By now, everybody’s heard of the tragic story of the drowning incident involving a 5-year old boy at Danville’s Dan Daniel Park. Here’s some thoughts about the incident… Forty hours of community service and a $1,000 fine for hauling his neighbor’s dogs 50 miles and dropping them off at an animal shelter. Seriously. At this time, we’ve got no idea what it’s about. As soon as we get details, we’ll let you know. Over a year ago, I issued a challenge to the Gazette-Virginian columnists to quit reprinting forwarded emails. Needless to say, they didn’t change their ways and this past week, Paula Bryant (the editor) got busted for reprinting copyrighted material. Some new blood flows into the HalifaxTalk message board and gets caught up in two trainwrecks within a month. Yep, he’s going to fit in just fine. Giant thanks go out to the three people who sent this in as a ThreadSpotting potential! The Danville Tea Party sponsored a “Freedom Rally” at Danville’s Ballou Park today. Let’s take a look at what happened using the infamous “random thoughts” format. Friday night was a great time over in Reidsville NC, as the first Cruise-In of the season got underway. Here’s a photo slideshow of some of the participants. It’s happening at Danville’s Ballou Park on Saturday. We’re going to try and attend.
