I’ve had three people ask about the possible return of K&W Cafeteria to Danville Mall. That’s a perfect topic for “Ask SouthsideCentral!” so let’s put this one to rest. Our walk through Danville’s Ballou Park continues. In this article, we continue down the arts and crafts section of the Festival in the Park. The Southside region has a lot of areas where our internet access isn’t very good (or doesn’t even exist). In this article, we’ll take a look at the city’s general fund and analyze what it really means. We call this a BreakDown. We’re up to our 10th article in the series and we’re heading through the business section of the festival. On Tuesday, May 24th, Danville’s Sonic restaurant will run a special, with corn dogs priced at 50¢. But there’s some fine print on the sign that caught SouthsideCentral’s eye. Heh. Sometimes, you have to look at a news story or happening and wonder think “Is This Anything?” Does the story or happening really have any significance or is it really nothing in the end? David Letterman used to play this game once a week on the “Late Show”, but he’s gone now. We’re glad to resurrect “Is This Anything?” as a SouthsideCentral occasional feature. So, let’s ask the title question? Is This Anything? It’s been a few weeks since our last QuickHits look at some of the stories that have caught our eye. Let’s fix that now. There’s no way that I can top the delicious photo of the BBQ ribs from Part #8 in this series, but we have to move on down the main street of vendors and exhibitors at Danville’s Festival in the Park. It took a good hand washing to get all the BBQ sauce off my hands (and my camera, my shirt, my arms…) but we’re ready to go with Part #9. Enjoy!
